About This Portuguese Cooking Class

Portugal may be a small country, but it has an enormous food tradition, shaped by the Atlantic coast, Mediterranean ingredients, centuries of trade, and a very sensible appreciation for good wine. Our Uncorked Portuguese Date Night Cooking Experience brings some of those flavors together for a hands-on evening of cooking and eating.

We’ll begin with rustic Portuguese cornbread with goat cheese and olive tapenade, then sear diver scallops with sweet pea and mint purée. For the main course, we’ll make duck with orange and port wine sauce, served with crispy roasted potatoes.

For dessert, we’ll make a rich olive oil chocolate mousse, pairing dark chocolate with one of Portugal’s most important ingredients.

Along the way, you’ll pick up useful techniques for cooking seafood, duck, sauces and more, with plenty of time to sit down and enjoy what you’ve made. Bring a date or a friend, bring some wine, and come hungry—we’ll take care of dinner together.

BYOB

We suggest a Portuguese Vinho Verde, a rich Touriga Nacional red, a chilled Alvarinho white, a fruity Spanish Grenache, or a rich Portugese Madiera to pair with dessert
