Make Something Frightfully Delicious
Get ready for Halloween with an unreasonable number of spooky sugar cookies! We’ll roll and bake cookies, mix and work with royal icing, and then get to the important part: decorating. Ghosts, witches, black cats, bats, jack-o’-lanterns, monsters, cauldrons, and whatever other creatures seem like a good idea at the time are all fair game.
We’ll cover the basics of working with royal icing, including consistency, outlining, flooding, piping, and adding details, but this is very much a class for playing with your food. No decorating experience is necessary, and perfection is neither expected nor particularly spooky.
Royal icing is happiest when it has plenty of time to dry, so we recommend leaving your finished cookies with us overnight and picking them up the following day. But, if you’ve come from farther afield, can’t make it back, or are taking the class on Halloween itself, we’ll carefully pack them up for the trip home. (And if the icing gets a little jostled in the car, you can tell people you were going for The Scream aesthetic.) This is an especially fun class to take with friends!
ADMIT ONE
Each ticket admits one person, but don’t let that stop you. This is a great experience to share with friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, frenemies, and anybody you want to share the cooking and eating with!
