Have you ever wanted to build your own earthen pizza or bread oven in your backyard? We’re excited to host our dear friend, Mr. Pizza Oven himself, Curtis Millsap as he leads us in a hands-on daylong oven build that will give you all of the experience you need to tackle this project on your own. This workshop will be hands-on outdoors, and may be cancelled or rescheduled in case of unfavorable weather. Please come dressed to get muddy!

We will sift soil, stomp mud, chop straw, mix cob, lay bricks, and generally have a really good time, while learning how to build an oven from the base to finish.  We will supply a lunch, and keep at it until the oven is finished. Past participants of Curtis’s workshops have said they found it very helpful, and at least one family went home and completed an oven that month.

We will be using Kiko Denzer’s book, “Build Your Own Earth Oven” as our guide, and we’ll go through design considerations, step by step building, and basics on oven operation.

The Workshop costs $40/person, including lunch.

We will email you 24 hours before the workshop with the specific address where we’ll be building the oven. Children ages 8+ are welcome.
