If you remember us from the B+B days\, you may remember us making the Best Biscuits and Gravy ever\, and we’re going to make them together along with flageolet bean gratin with chevre\, leeks and artichokes\, fresh fruit salad\, and chocolate waffles with mascarpone and cherries.  And of course\, we’ll have coffee\, tea\, and all the makings of Bloody Marys and mimosas on hand\, just bring your favorite booze to pair. \nStarting at the relatively civilized hour of 9:45\, lasting until about 12:15 or so.  \nEach ticket admits ONE ADULT. \n  \n\nTICKET TERMS\, POLICIES\, & USEFUL INFORMATION: \nBy purchasing this ticket\, we agree that we understand that we are joining the Pickwick & Cherry Cooking Club\, a private\, fraternal organization\, and that all food will be prepared by members of the club. We understand that cooking is an activity that involves some inherent danger\, including but not limited to cuts\, burns\, slips and falls\, and other risks\, and we waive all liability and hold Pickwick & Cherry harmless in the unlikely event we are injured. \nWe understand and agree to the Cancellation Policy\, which states that “Class reservations are like theatre tickets – the show must go on! Therefore\, if you find that you cannot make it\, we strongly encourage you to send someone else in your place. If need to cancel more than 30 days before your class\, you may without penalty. If you need to cancel within 30 days\, but more than 14 days\, you may switch your reservation to any other of our classes with space available (and pay the difference if necessary). If you must cancel within 14 days\, you may exchange your reservation only if we can fill your space in the class. We will certainly work with you to find someone to take your space if we can help\, but we encourage you to find someone on your own. If we cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances or lack of interest\, we will refund you in full.” \nWe understand and agree to the Appropriate Attire Policy\, which states\, “Please wear appropriate clothes for a hands-on cooking experience. We discourage long flow-y sleeves\, lots of fringe\, anything with glitter\, things that stain easily\, and anything else impractical for standing and moving on floors that contain drains\, grates\, uneven surfaces\, and potential slippery areas. FLAT SHOES FOR WOMEN ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.” \nWe understand and agree that COVID-19 transmission and exposure is a potential risk in any setting where people from multiple households are present\, and we accept this risk. We also agree to abide by any stated COVID-19 precautions\, including but not limited to mask wearing\, hand washing\, or other precautions that management may deem appropriate.  \nWe understand that alcoholic beverages may be consumed by people of legal age on a BYOB basis\, but that the hosts reserve the right to restrict the times at which alcohol may be consumed\, or may cut off any guest’s alcohol consumption at any time in the interest of the safety and comfort of all present. \n

This fun\, hands-on workshop is all about mastering the dough\, the twist\, and the bake that makes pretzels so irresistible\, while also learning a few tricks that bakers have passed down for generations. \nWe’ll begin with authentic Bavarian lye-dipped pretzels\, the kind that deliver that iconic chewy crust and deep\, golden shine. Lye can be dangerous if handled incorrectly\, but we’ll provide the goggles\, the know-how\, and the confidence to teach you how to use lye safely. It’s not nearly as scary as it sounds\, and the delicious results are absolutely worth it. \nNext\, we’ll bake Scandinavian sweet pretzels\, soft\, sweet\, and lightly iced\, perfect for an afternoon treat or a cozy breakfast. We’ll also make Parmesan peppercorn pretzels\, savory and bold. It’s basically the best possible garlic bread—but with all the satisfying chew and character of a real pretzel. \nAlong the way\, we’ll tackle the famous flippy-twisty pretzel fold (English doesn’t really have a word for it\, but German does: Brezelschlingen)\, breaking it down step by step until the classic shape feels easy and natural. We’ll share tips on dough handling\, shaping\, flavor variations\, and baking methods so that pretzels can become part of our own kitchen repertoire. \nBy the end of class\, we’ll leave with a generous pile of fresh\, warm pretzels\, new skills\, and maybe even a new party trick to share.
