About This British Cooking Class
Pack your appetite (and perhaps your best faux-British accent) for a charming culinary trip across the pond! In this elegant yet cozy hands-on class, we explore the timeless flavors of the British Isles with a feast fit for royalty — or at least a very satisfied table of cooks.
We begin with the showstopper: Beef Wellington. Together, we wrap tender beef tenderloin in layers of savory mushroom pâté and buttery puff pastry before baking it to golden, flaky perfection — crisp on the outside, rosy within, and absolutely irresistible. Alongside, we prepare honey-glazed roasted parsnips, a classic element of a proper British roast, and champ mashed potatoes, an Irish favorite enriched with scallions, butter, and cream.
To brighten the plate, we whisk a silky hollandaise to serve over tender asparagus — simple, refined, and reliably satisfying.
Dessert brings the cozy magic the British Isles are known for. We finish the evening with warm, whiskey-laced sticky toffee pudding, soaked in caramel sauce and served with a generous dollop of cream. The aroma alone feels like comfort.
Throughout the class, we chop, stir, fold, whisk, and bake side by side, learning new techniques, sharing good conversation, and enjoying a relaxed evening together in Springfield’s tiniest (and happiest) kitchen. Whether you come with a friend, family member, co-worker, or anyone else you enjoy spending time with, it’s a deliciously proper night out.
BYOB
We suggest a bold Cabernet Sauvignon or Bordeaux blend, a classic Syrah/Shiraz, or a rich Pinot Noir for red wine lovers. If you prefer white, try a lightly oaked Chardonnay or a Viognier. A fine Scotch whisky or Irish whiskey also pairs beautifully.
ADMIT TWO
Each ticket admits two people! You don’t have to bring a romantic partner; friends, gal pals, adult kids, parents, anybody you want to share the cooking and eating with is great!
